For 11 Years I published and printed a line of Christmas cards called “The Lone Ornament: They featured one lone ornament set in the snow. The fact that “The Lone” and “Tellone” sound the same is no coincidence.
The first Lone Ornament was shot on December 20th, 2006 on Mount Palomar for the first card in 2007.
Most of the following images were shot the year previous to publication on either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day in my annual “Search for Snow” (The only thing that makes it feel like Christmas in a warm climate)
They were photographed on Mount Palomar, Mount Laguna and most of the last ones were photographed in Idyllwild at Humber park in the San Jacinto Mountains. One…was photographed in Joshua Tree National Park on New Year’s day, which was also the day of a freak snowstorm in my hometown (then) of Temecula.
So I thought I should put together all of them in one place. Mostly so I could remember them
2017 was the last year for the Lone Ornament. It was also the only year I could not find snow for Christmas for a 2018 card. Thus ended an era…for me
Here they are in order
