Heaeded up to Joshua Tree National Park in Mid August for the Perseid Meteor Showers. Which promised to be “the best ever” Yeah Yeah Yeah, Head it “Billion and Billions” of time. It was Fair. But the Sjy was dark (excepting LA and palm Springs) and the skies were clear and it was the most beautiful of nights to sit in the dark in one of my favorite Desert National Parks
I sat for hours just watching and shooting – There is a lot of waiting time in shooting the stars- so it was nice to kick back and just “Look up” for 30 seconds or 30 Minutes.
I was surprised how many people showed up for the Meteor shower so it was hyped well. Even as I was leaving at 1AM people were still coming into the park. They probably did better than I since the majority were supposed to be during the early morning hours. But I had enough and got what I really came for which was shots of the Milky Way, Including a couple Panos, A Vertorama and a couple Star Trails and some Light Painting with Flash.
I saw one full sky streaker (Meteor) which I captured early in the evening, other than that I saw about a dozen more small ones a few of which I captured
Just a Great Night.
Here are 18 or so from the night
