“Sunrise Stanislaus National Forest”
What might not be obvious from the beauty of the sunrise is that this area is completely…Burnt . This is the area of the “Rim Fire” last year’s wildfire that consumed 257,000 acres of wilderness, taken from the point that gave the fire it’s name (Rim of the World Vista Point)
While I understand the part that fire naturally plays in the forest and how it is a necessary part of the forest ecosystem. This one was hard to look at because I will never see this area come back in my lifetime or the next’s. Especially since this one was not the result of a natural reason…but one guy being stupid. Driving along 120 and up along Tioga Pass I was overwhelmed by the size of this.
